What is VoIP?

| VoIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. VoIP is the method
by which you can send your voice (analog data) over the Internet (digital data) to an
end-user who receives the message.

How does VoIP work?

| It is a service that works by transmitting voice over data
networks.A VoIP gateway converts the analog voice data into digital data packets which are
sent over a
broadband Internet connection to a VoIP server that forwards the message to the receiving
party.

Do I need a special ISP to use VoIP?

| No, VoIP will work over any Internet connection that is fast and
stable enough to carry the data (i.e. a Broadband connection).

What's a softphone?

| A softphone is a software program for making telephone calls over
the internet using a general purpose computer, rather than using dedicated hardware. Often a
softphone is designed to behave like a traditional telephone, sometimes appearing as an

| This is a product in which customers with broadband links such as
Fixed WiMax, Mobile WiMax, Wi-Fi at their homes can plug an IP phone or Soft phone.

How can I use VoIP @ WORK?
|
| Under this service, corporate customers can connect their Internal
IPBX to the Econet Soft switch for incoming and outgoing calls. Econet will allocate VoIP
Trunks to the enterprise IPBX / Gateway. Internally, Corporates can connect IP Phones or
Analogue phones to their internal IPBX/PABX.
